This Thursday, we celebrate American Independence with the Fourth of July. When we celebrate this day, we can anticipate some classic activities that we can experience anywhere in the country, such as firework shows and various displays of patriotism. However, each city has different activities and events that you can look forward to as well, depending on where you live. For example, Boston has a number of events that are special to the city and have become traditions for residents living in and around the city. Starting today, you can attend the Boston Harborfest.

The Boston Harborfest is an annual event that lasts from the end of June through to the 4th of July. The event takes place on the harbor, hence the name, and includes historical reenactments, music performances, and parades. The event culminates in a grand fireworks display over the Boston Harbor on the evening of July 4th. This event has been happening since 1981. Some events are free while others do have fees.

You can also pop into Boston Pops on July 4th.

The Boston Pops is a concert series that ends in a fireworks show on the evening of July 4th. The show is being headlined by Kelli O’ Hara, a Broadway actress, Darlene Love, a classic R&B singer, and the band The Mavericks. The concert is expected to be around two to two and a half hours long, with the fireworks show scheduled to start at 10:30 p.m.

You can also walk around and experience the historic city.

Boston was a huge city when it came to its role in the fight the now United States had in gaining independence from Great Britian. Because of its role in the Revolutionary War and the foundation of American history, there is a lot of great history that you can find all around the city.
